LIFE IS A SLINGSHOT, PROPEL YOURSELF

Stop right there!!!! Take a look at your life right now and ask yourself are you where you want to be? If the answer is NO, than you have a lot of work to do. Don’t be upset or think you are a failure because most of us are not where we want to be in life, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay there. Life is a slingshot so figure out where you want to go and propel yourself right into that direction.

Sometimes you have to re-evaluate your situation and take a few steps back so you can get to where you want to be a lot faster. Don’t be afraid to be judged by others because you aren’t keeping up with the ever so changing fashion trends and instead are paying down your debt. Don’t be embarrassed because you chose to move back in with your parents to pay down those student loans or save for a house. Remember you are taking some steps back to accelerate yourself forward. While your peers are doing the same things over and over again, your sacrifices will make you surpass them if you keep your eye on the target.

Don’t think I am just saying these things to just say them because I did all of the above. I wanted to sling shot myself forward so for almost two years I sucked it up and did the things I needed to do. Why???? Because I have big dreams for myself so I devised a plan and took action. For almost two years I lived with my parents after being on my own for so long and drove 1.5 hours to and from work M-F. I was mindful about the things that I spent money on and the places that I went. I told my friends in advance that I was going to be on the cheap side because I had things to accomplish so don’t ask me to do anything crazy expensive. In 2015, my sacrifices gave me the opportunity to pay off $7,000 in student loan debt, buy my first home, grow my business Happily Naturally Me, give my son an amazing birthday party at the Philadelphia Zoo and travel to Dubai for my 30th birthday! My house was the best Christmas gift I had ever given myself considering I was able to get my keys on December 22nd. My friends and family were proud of me because I stuck to what I said I was going to do. Yeah, I am sure some had their doubts, but I take pride in proving people wrong. I was proud of myself because often times I had my own doubts and became super frustrated, but I kept my eye on my prize not only for myself but for my son.
